Time for a cruise: when to embark on a journey around the world
The best time to go on a cruise can vary significantly depending on the destinations you are planning to travel to. Additionally, weather conditions and other factors that travelers may not even think about can have a significant impact on a vacation.
What seasons are suitable for a cruise trip and which routes? Yahoo News has revealed when to go on vacation to some of the most popular cruise destinations.
Alaska
This destination is best visited between May and September. However, to observe wildlife, you should choose summertime, particularly July, or late June and August. At the same time, lower prices for cruises can be found in May and September, when you can observe the magical colors of the trees. It should also be noted that weather conditions in the early and late periods may be accompanied by storms and deteriorating weather conditions.
Caribbean
It is believed that the Caribbean can be visited throughout the year, but there are some exceptions. In particular, the hurricane season, which lasts from June to November, is a factor to consider. Otherwise, it is recommended to visit from December to April.
Mediterranean Sea
You can visit here between May and September when the sea is calm and the weather is warm. Additionally, it's worth considering that July may not be suitable for those who dislike the heat, so it's better to choose April or October for a trip. Also, it's not advisable to visit the Mediterranean Sea from November to March due to unpredictable weather conditions.
Antarctica
Cruise ships visit this snowy continent only six months of the year, from October/November to March, during the summer season. The weather is typically unpredictable, and the region is inaccessible outside of the cruise season due to extreme cold and ice.
TravelWise previously reported that Holland America will launch a 132-day cruise in 2026.
