Tasty meals on the plane: what food should not be taken in the cabin and what you need to know before ordering
A travel expert has shared useful tips to help you start your vacation on a positive note. No one would want to feel hungry during a flight, but tasteless food can ruin your mood even more.
The founder of the One Mile At A Time website emphasizes that any hot food on an airplane is reheated food, because it is prepared on the ground before takeoff. According to The Scottish Sun, knowing this fact, you can determine in advance which dish may be tasteless.
"It's important to understand the peculiarities of airplane meals. Food is not cooked on board, but prepared in advance and then reheated," said the flight specialist.
The expert also recommends paying attention to the signature dishes of airlines that have already earned good ratings and become the carrier's business cards. Usually, if the food is liked by the majority of tourists, there is a better chance that it is really tasty.
"For example, Singapore Airlines' satay is really great," the expert said.
In order not to be disappointed, he advises to think of menus as "leftovers" similar to takeout. Another way to avoid tasteless food is to pay attention to cold dishes.
"Unlimited first-class service with caviar from Emirates is a great example," the experienced traveler noted.
The expert also gave advice on dishes to avoid.
"I tend to think that you should often just avoid the main courses... even with the best airlines, the main courses are usually not very exciting," the expert added.
As previously reported by TravelWise, a former flight attendant named the most delicious food on board and advised how to get it as soon as possible.
