Slippers or bathrobes: what to take with you from the hotel
When planning your vacation, let's talk about important details that we often forget about: what can you take from the hotel? It is important to make your vacation as comfortable as possible, without unnecessary hassle with the hotel administration.
This article from Dailystar tells you what you can take with you from your hotel room and how to make your trip even more enjoyable. Which of the things are essentially free and which are still better left in the room?
Toiletries and stationery
If it's cosmetics in small packages, don't be afraid to bring shampoo, conditioner, soap, and body lotion from your hotel room. Their cost is already included in the total payment. But be careful if you find large bottles of bathroom supplies, especially if they are attached to the wall, and want to take them with you. Stationery items (such as paper, pens, envelopes and postcards) can be used and left in the room for free without any problems. They usually have the hotel's logo on them, which in turn is free advertising. However, it is better not to take leather-bound notebooks with you.
Food, drinks and free gifts
You have the right to keep any small snacks and drinks provided in your room. This can include cookies, tea, coffee, and packages of cream and sugar. However, if it's drinks from the minibar, you may have to pay extra.
Anything that is provided free of charge can be taken with you, such as chocolate bars or even a bottle of water placed next to the pillows. If you inform the hotel in advance about a special date, such as a wedding anniversary or honeymoon, you may be pleased with an additional surprise, such as a free bottle of champagne.
Bed linen and clothing items
Please do not bring used bedding items such as towels, sheets and blankets. This also applies to bedding, pillows and blankets, as well as bathrobes. Leave an iron, ironing board and hangers in the room.
You can take a sewing kit or plastic dry cleaning bags, and this also applies to slippers that are intended for one-time use only.
General items
Please do not take any cable boxes, hair dryers or light bulbs with you. Please leave your TV and remote control (with batteries) in your room, as well as your clock/radio or tablet.
Do not take ashtrays, glass bottles or mugs with you from the hotel. Leave pictures on the walls and any books, including the Bible, on the nightstand.
It's better for you and the hotel if you decide what you can take and what you should leave behind; that way you can enjoy your stay without worrying about trouble. If in doubt, you can always ask the hotel staff if you can take an item with you.
