National parks in Norway: visit them on your next trip
The landscapes of Norway are simply stunning. The incredible images of the country are proof of that. When it comes to camping, Norway's national parks are a paradise.
Whether you just want to wander through the endless forests, ski on the beautiful slopes in winter, or climb jagged granite mountains, the parks have it all. Newsbytesapp.com has created a list of the most attractive national parks in Norway.
Stabbursdalen National Park
Stabbursdalen National Park consists of high lonely mountains, deep valleys, unique geological formations, attractive watercourses, and marshy landscapes with crystal-clear mountain lakes. The park and its protected landscape offer a variety of short and long hikes through the picturesque surroundings.
This park is most popular for its water activities. You can go fishing in the 60-kilometer-long Stabburgselva River or in other mountain lakes.
Jotunheimen National Park
Jutungaimen has more than 250 mountains with a height of almost 2000 meters, including the 2469-meter-high Galdhpiggen. The glacier-carved area is surrounded by turquoise lakes, waterfalls, and rivers. The main activities here are hiking, horseback riding, climbing, or skiing.
Despite its remoteness, the area is easily accessible via more than 50 hiking trails, including the Besseggen ridge and the Falketind and Galdhopiggen peaks.
Femundsmarka National Park
Beautiful trails and paths running around the marshes and lakes give the park a sense of tranquility. The low hills and mountains with birds flying over them create a wonderful backdrop for the water bodies.
Trees in the park remain rooted until death, turning a silvery gray color before falling to the ground.
Rondane National Park
This is the oldest national park in Norway, with about 10 peaks over 2000 meters high. Between these mountains, there are a number of valleys, canyons, and lowland shrubs and forests.
This is one of the few places in Europe where tourists can see rain deer. Other famous wildlife spotted in the park include bears, lynxes, elk, bighorn sheep, deer, and wolves.
Forlandet National Park
Located on the western coast of the Svalbard archipelago, the park consists of vast stretches of sea, alpine mountains, and colossal glaciers. It is very interesting to watch walruses resting on the beaches, as well as stone seals and kairos that live here.
A great way to enjoy this place is to take a boat trip along the sea cliffs.
