In Britain, a dangerous animal resembling a dinosaur was rescued: photos and videos
A dinosaur-like creature, an alligator snapping turtle, was discovered in the UK, originating from the swamps and rivers of the southern United States. It was rescued from the shallow waters of a small lake near Ulverston.
Denise Chamberlain, a turtle keeper, immediately recognized this predatory species. Despite contacting various animal rescue agencies and receiving no assistance, she decided to rescue the turtle herself, as reported by The Guardian.
Equipped with protective gloves, Chamberlain filled a plastic container with water and waded into the water up to her calves. She described the turtle as "angry" and resembling a "small prehistoric dinosaur."
As she approached, the animal opened its mouth, revealing its strong beak-like jaw. At home, she fed the animal raw chicken before taking it to the vet.
They estimated that the turtle was about five or six years old. They could not determine its gender.
Veterinarians will transport the alligator snapping turtle to a specialized reptile center, where it will be placed in warmer water to speed up its metabolism.
