In a popular video, Esther offers some simple tricks that can help tourists improve their hotel room experience.

One of Esther's most useful tips can help tourists charge their smartphone if they forgot to bring an adapter.

She says, "Broken plug while travelling around the world? Use a USB cable and charge it [your smartphone] through the TV!"

When packing for a vacation, it's easy for tourists to forget that very few other countries have the same sockets as the UK, which means that many electrical devices won't be immediately compatible.

While many hotels allow tourists to borrow an adapter, usually requiring a deposit to remind guests to return it at the end of their stay, the flight attendant suggested plugging a USB connector into the in-room TV.

Using a TV to charge your phone often takes significantly longer than plugging it into a regular wall outlet, but it should be enough to power your device for a while.
