Why you shouldn't use folding tables on airplanes: Explanation from flight attendants
Usually, the dirtiest place on an airplane is considered to be the toilet, but according to airline employees, this is far from the case. According to them, one of the biggest breeding grounds for bacteria on board is the folding table that passengers use to have a snack or put their gadgets or other things on.
According to some anonymous flight attendants, they are a real breeding ground for bacteria, and passengers often use them for non-food-related things, Nuffington Post writes.
They advise against using these items at all as other passengers often behave in a completely unethical manner. "I've lost count of the number of times I've had to tell people how disgusting it is to change their baby's diaper on a folding table or on a seat," says the flight attendant.
This is especially true on short-haul flights when the crew "spruces up" the flight, meaning they make it presentable but don't necessarily clean the seats, trays, and pockets thoroughly.
