Virgin Atlantic flight attendant says she always carries this £1 product with her on board
Eating during a flight can be frustrating, to say the least, especially if you have dietary requirements. But one flight attendant told us how tourists can guarantee themselves a warm meal on the plane.
The Virgin Atlantic flight attendant recommended always taking instant food with you and then just adding water. This was reported by thesun.co.
"By bringing your own instant food, you are guaranteed to get a warm meal that you will enjoy during the flight and that meets your dietary requirements. You will always have a spare snack," the flight attendant adds.
Passengers can ask crew members for instant boiling water for free.
The flight attendant added, "Another great feature of this hack is that the noodles are inexpensive and will cost much less than all the snacks you can buy in the terminal."
Food in airport lounges is not cheap, so this trick will also help you save on holiday expenses.
Another flight attendant said that they are very happy to cook instant noodles for people on their flights.
"A lot of employees bring this food too because it's a cheap lunch that's easy to prepare and generally a little tastier than other options. For some of our Far East flights, we load a cup of noodles on board and that's pretty much all we do during the flight, just fill it up and hand it out. There have been times when I've spent as much as six hours in the air just filling cups of noodles on repeat," the flight attendant said.
Flight attendants are not the only ones who praise the noodle pot on airplanes. Last year, passenger Seema Pankhania filmed the moment she brought instant noodles on a flight.
In the video, she asked the flight attendant for hot water to prepare the snack. She told the audience, "If you're flying and you hate airplane food, make sure you bring noodles."
There are some foods that flight attendants recommend that passengers avoid on board an airplane. They advise passengers not to drink on board. This is because it has different effects on the body when flying at altitude. This makes people dehydrated more than usual, while carbonated drinks such as prosecco or drinks with mixers make passengers feel bloated.
Salty foods should also be avoided. Salt has a similar effect on the body as alcohol, namely it can lead to dehydration too.
