Booking a weekend getaway in a business district gives you the best chance of getting a hotel room upgrade.
Mark Johnson, founder of the H18YC hotel search engine brand and travel expert, told us about this. Having successfully tested this theory himself, he now encourages others to do the same, The Sun reports.
"If your hotel is in a business center, it's more likely that you'll get an upgrade on a Friday or Saturday," said Mark. He added: "That's because business travelers are more likely to stay during the work week, meaning the best rooms often become available when they all go home for the weekend."
Since your hotel is likely to be quieter, you can also expect to have a more relaxing stay than usual and receive less disturbance from other guests.
So, it might be worth choosing a cheaper room when you make your initial booking, as there's a chance you'll get a better room at no extra cost.
