The flight attendant shared a life hack that will help reduce stress levels before the flight
Cici, 51, from Florida, uses the nickname @cici.inthesky on social media. She always checks the status of the national airspace system before flying. Her other recommendation is to check the FlightAware app.
Want to reduce your stress level before traveling to the airport? Take the advice of an experienced flight attendant who wants to help others ease their burden," the Mail Online website says.
Cici, 51, from Florida, who uses the nickname @cici.inthesky on social media and does not disclose her last name, tells in a TikTok video how she always checks the National Airspace System Status website before her flight in case of possible delays.
She says that if the website or app indicates delays are "possible," they are less likely, but if it indicates they are "probable," they are very likely.
After checking the National Airspace System Status website, Cici looks at the FlightAware app. Using her flight number, she sees her plane approaching and "just makes sure everything is going the way it should be."
She says that if she notices a "probable problem" through the National Airspace System or through FlightAware, she understands that the departure time will probably change. By making these checks, she says she is also more mentally prepared for the possibility that issues may arise.
She concludes: "Always be patient. Staying ahead of the curve and being aware is a significant psychological step."
In the accompanying video, Cici explains that the National Airspace System Status website (nasstatus.faa.gov) "serves as a vital travel companion, offering real-time updates on air traffic conditions, airport delays, and weather-related disruptions."
"It provides essential information about airport delays and airspace congestion, ensuring smooth flights in the sky.
Whether you're a frequent flyer or an occasional traveler, this site is your go-to source of information to help you stay informed and avoid trouble while traveling."
Many viewers thanked Cici for sharing her experience. One commenter wrote: "Thank you for this. I never knew about the NASS website! I just added it to my favorites!!!"
Another frequent flyer agreed with Cici's recommendations, writing: "I fly every week for work, and FlightAware is my best friend. I tell my friends, family, and even strangers about it, and they all love using it!"
