Luxurious and fast: The most anticipated trains in 2024
This year, trains are once again in demand among travellers around the world. This is evidenced by the emergence of a number of high-speed trains that will run both on familiar and popular routes and open up new destinations for adventure seekers.
What will the world's railroads offer tourists this year and where can they go using this land transport? This was reported in Yahoo News.
The Brightline. Florida's new high-speed railroad will connect Orlando and Miami with stops in West Palm Beach, Boca Raton, Fort Lauderdale, and Aventura.
The Whoosh. This Indonesian train will connect the two largest cities in Java: Jakarta and Bandung. It reaches the speed of 215 mph, so it will take less than 60 minutes to get to the desired destination.
The Tren Maya. This is a long-awaited train that will connect Cancun International Airport with a number of destinations, including Tulum, Merida, and Palenque.
The European Sleeper and Nightjet. This night train is due to start operating in May and will connect Brussels with Berlin. The train will pass through Antwerp, Rotterdam, and Amsterdam, and will be extended to Dresden and Prague within a year.
The Acela. This is a representative of the next generation of trains that will run along the Northeast corridor. A total of 28 trains with speeds up to 160 mph are being prepared for launch.
