Incredible appetite: experts shared how not to eat everything from a buffet
When choosing an all-inclusive vacation, hotels offer a variety of food and a large selection of alcoholic beverages. And it's hard to resist in a restaurant when you see so many delicious things. You want to try everything and more. But unfortunately, this can harm the gastrointestinal tract.
The Sun shared a smart way to try everything from the buffet without overeating.
Hotel experts at The Angle advise taking your time, making a few turns around the table, checking what dishes are offered, and evaluating your options. This will help you navigate your taste preferences.
"If you're a glutton, take some nuts or dried fruit to fill you up. It's like grocery shopping - you'll never make the right decisions if you're starving. Once you see everything on the buffet, you can choose healthier foods."
Instead of grabbing the foods you have in front of you, experts recommend combining them.
"Maybe there's a fruit or dried nut bar that will go with your salad, or a little peanut butter will add protein to that brownie you're craving, ask for some herbs to add flavor to your salad," the experts advise.
For foodies who like to snack between meals, experts advise taking something to eat in the room for later.
"You may want a handful of dried fruits or nuts in case you are near a historical monument or in between meetings. You never know when you're going to get hungry."
They also urged guests to think about their choices, as eating certain foods can affect their well-being and thus ruin their trip altogether.
In particular, experts advise against animal milk, as it can be harsh on your stomach. Instead, they recommend adding plant-based milk to your coffee, such as coconut or almond milk. It does not cause discomfort after consumption.
Altitude and air conditioning systems in an airplane can lead to dehydration and bloating. To avoid unpleasant sensations, experts recommend avoiding salty foods. Opt for foods such as egg whites, nuts, avocados, or chia seeds, as they are easy to include in breakfast. These foods are high in protein and low in unhealthy fats.
