How to survive in a hotel room: a few tips to make your life easier
When we are on vacation, the last thing we want to think about is ensuring our comfort in the hotel, because we expect the staff to take care of it.
However, sometimes we have to take matters into our own hands. Obsev told about some interesting life hacks.
Make your own humidifier
Don't have a humidifier? No problem! Take care of the dry air in your hotel rooms with this ingenious method: use the built-in air conditioning unit as a makeshift humidifier. Simply take a damp towel and fix it on the luggage rack next to the air conditioner. For constant humidification throughout the night, keep one end of the towel soaked in a bucket of water. Rest easy with the perfect moisture balance in your room.
Pour juice into a coffee mug
The cups that hotels provide during breakfast are sometimes much smaller than the ones offered in your room for coffee. So before you stop at the breakfast bar in the morning, be sure to bring a couple of cups from your room with you so you don't have to keep refilling your favorite juices.
Use baking soda to combat odor
Although the hotel staff makes sure to clean every room, if you have any doubts about the cleanliness of your room, you can try a simple trick - baking soda! Sprinkle some baking soda on the mattress and leave it for an hour. During this time, the baking soda works like magic, absorbing moisture, eliminating odors, and even fighting mold particles. Then vacuum up the baking soda and voila! Your hotel mattress will be clean and smelling fresh again.
Always keep a pencil with you
For parents traveling with children, a pencil can be a handy tool for keeping them entertained during long car rides, flights, or while waiting in restaurants. And when it comes to emergencies, a pencil becomes an invaluable writing tool. Unlike markers or pens that can run out of ink, or pencils that break and need to be sharpened, a reliable pencil will always do the job.
Check for abandoned phone chargers
When you enter your hotel room, it's important to take a thorough look around your temporary home. If you come across a forgotten phone charger, report it immediately. Although such objects may seem innocent, they could potentially be hidden cameras that violate your privacy.
