How to save over 100 euros when booking tickets
Searching the Ryanair website and buying tickets is incredibly frustrating. Especially when you're trying to figure out all the additional services available and whether they're worth it.
However, in the midst of all this chaos, Shauna Bannon Ward, the author of an article on RSVP Live, managed to find a Ryanair travel hack that saved me over 100 euros on my flight fees. You can also try it again and reduce your costs
After I chose my destination, date and time of departure, the website offers to choose the type of ticket you want. They are: basic, regular, plus and Flexi Plus.
Each is more expensive and has additional options for baggage, boarding, airport check-in, security, and changing flight details.
Shauna Bannon Ward usually takes a 10-kilogram carry-on and a 20-kilogram checked bag. This time, she noticed that there was a huge price difference between these four options.
If you wanted to bring a 10-kilogram suitcase, it cost an additional 35.75 euros. For a 20-kilogram checked bag, you had to pay an additional 46.24 euros, and if you took both suitcases? You will pay 100.75 euros. All these additional price tags are added to the main ticket price.
The author of this article wanted to pay for a 20-kilogram checked bag. However, she looked through several pages of terms and conditions and all the additional services offered beforehand, I came across another section dedicated to bags. It offered priority boarding and two carry-on bags, including a 10-kilogram bag, for only 23 euros.
Of course, it's not the Fast Track expedited security system or the ability to adjust my flights, but that's not usually why people pay for Flexi Plus. It's usually because of the baggage allowance.
Shauna Bannon Ward couldn't believe she was saving so much. For a 10-kilogram suitcase, she paid only 23 euros instead of an additional 54.51 euros, which means she saved 31.51 euros. Since she bought several tickets, she actually saved 126.04 euros.
