How to pack a suit in a suitcase so as not to wrinkle it
To make traveling much easier and more enjoyable, you shouldn't take too many things with you. This way, you can pay fewer baggage or hand luggage fees and travel comfortably without being overweight.
In particular, the skills of packing properly will help you achieve this, which will be useful for those who take suits on a trip. The Manual explains how to pack a suit properly step by step.
Hand luggage
- Fold the suit so that the shoulders touch each other. Follow the main lines (seams) of the suit.
- Turn the jacket inside out with the lining facing you.
- Make sure the sleeves are folded flat and then fold the jacket in half across the forearms to form a rectangle.
- Smooth out the pants, fold them in half, then fold them again and place them with the jacket.
The "roll" technique
- Make sure the suit is folded in half along the seams and the sleeves are as straight as possible.
- Find an object in your suitcase that looks like a tube to roll the suit around. Carefully wrap the jacket and pants separately.
- Tuck it into your t-shirt and secure it with a belt. This way, it will easily fit in your backpack.
Mailing
You can send the suit separately by mail and pick it up at the branch when you arrive at the desired location. To do this, you can use one of the two types of packaging presented above and choose the appropriate postal service.
Travel in it
You can simply change into a suit at the airport, putting your belongings in a bag, and then do the opposite upon arrival. This way, your clothes won't get wrinkled and will keep their shape.
Traditional suitcase
There are certain details to consider here to ensure that the items in the suitcase retain their original appearance. In particular, you can ask for permission to hang your suitcase in the storage locker at the front of the plane, or carefully put it in the hand luggage of other passengers. If that doesn't work, you can take your suitcase out and open it on your lap.
If you have more than one suit
- Choose a lightweight material, such as linen, or pay attention to woolen suits that are difficult to wrinkle.
- Buy a special bag for clothes.
- Put your shoes in a separate bag.
