How to get a better seat on the plane: life hack from an experienced traveler
David Alvadish, a 60,000-mile traveler, shared an unexpected life hack on how to get a better seat on an airplane when traveling in economy class.
Unlike most passengers who rush to get on board, Alvadis recommends getting on last. In a conversation with Bloomberg, he revealed how to get more chances for a comfortable flight.
"I am absolutely the last to board the plane. All these people who are doing this barbaric dance, rushing to get on board, as if they want to get to Florida before me, but of course they are not going to do it," said the 67-year-old CEO of ItsEasy.
According to him, waiting allows you to scout out what seats are available after all other passengers have taken their seats.
"I just sit and wait and then get on the plane after everyone else. I can sit in a middle seat in the back of the plane, but if you're the last one to board, you can see what other seats are available as soon as the boarding doors close, say, an aisle closer to the front."
This life hack can be useful for those who don't want to sit in a cramped middle seat or near the toilet.
Often, some flight tickets cannot be sold or a passenger decides not to fly at the last minute, which automatically frees up his or her seat. Such seats can be occupied with a peace of mind.
