How to find out if the plane has arrived: a simple life hack from a blogger has garnered nearly a million views
Travel expert and TikTok user @loulouexplores, nicknamed Lou Lou, shared a useful tip on her account. She talked about how travelers can ensure their loved ones know where they are by simply sending them the flight number.
"I use this little trick every time I fly - when you paste your flight number into a message and send it to someone, you can hold down the flight number and all the details of your flight will appear. Just click on 'Flight Preview' to see it," she was quoted as saying by Express.
According to her, you can check the terminal gate, whether it's on time, departure time, arrival time, and duration of your flight. In the video, Lou Lou demonstrates the tip by texting her flight number to a friend and opening a map that shows the flight route and information. However, there is one condition, because although the method shown in the TikTok video is incredibly simple, it can currently only be used on Apple products such as the iPhone and iPad.
At the same time, Android or PC users can still check flights used by loved ones using a wide range of websites and apps that track airplane travel. Sites such as FlightRadar24 and FlightAware detail all the planes that are currently flying at a particular time, making it important for users to know the exact flight number. During the flight, these trackers often allow users to see exactly where the plane is and the estimated time of arrival.
In turn, the tips from user Lou Lou have already received almost a million likes. Many TikTok users also found the tip interesting and learned how they can make sure their loved ones know where they are.
One viewer advised: "If you put the flight on your calendar, then it will show all the information about your flight in Siri suggestions. Another user suggested: "Just download Flight Radar 24, you'll be able to see every plane that's flying right now and what plane you're on, and everything else you have in that video."
