Free champagne or a better seat: a crew member explains why it's useful to be polite to flight attendants
Being polite to flight attendants, while unlikely to help you get a class upgrade, can contribute to a pleasant atmosphere during the flight. Crew members sometimes make unexpected surprises for their "favorites".
According to one anonymous flight attendant from British Long-Haul Airlines, there is nothing wrong with sucking up from time to time. She told Velloy about it.
"Although nothing is guaranteed, and we don't hold the keys to upgrading the flight class, being a 'favorite' can get you a free bottle of champagne or a seat with more legroom," said the crew members.
You can establish communication with flight attendants not only with kind words, compliments and offers to help if necessary, but also for a sweet "bribe".
As you know, crew members do not take tips, but they will always be happy to receive a small souvenir, sweets, or other goodies. This makes them feel important and happy during a difficult flight.
Passengers were sincerely advised to try not to treat flight attendants as mere members of the company's staff on their next flight, but to give them more smiles and pleasant words. This can open up new opportunities for tourists or simply cheer everyone up.
