A flight attendant gave advice on what food to avoid on an airplane and named an alternative
The crew members urge passengers to be responsible for their meals on board and avoid certain dishes, replacing them with others. They also gave advice on drinks, the taste of which can open up in a new way at altitude.
According to the Express, flight attendant Selina Bedding advised passengers to "avoid airplane food as much as possible" because it often contains a lot of salt and sugar. This is due to the dulling of taste buds.
"We lose about 30 percent of our taste buds due to the pressure in the cabin. That's why companies that prepare food for airlines add much more salt to it to make it taste good at 40,000 feet," the flight expert explained.
It is believed that sandwiches are the most popular choice of airplane passengers, but they can contain too many spices, which is not good for the body. The flight attendant advised replacing this dish with any salad.
Water should be an indispensable companion for all travelers, but there is an important rule. In no case should you drink water from the tap in the toilet, as it may not be thoroughly purified. Preference should be given to bottled water.
As for other drinks, passengers are advised to try tomato juice. Its taste may change and become more pleasant on the plane.
This is due to the content of a substance called umami in the drink. It does not become less saturated during the flight, so the juice tastes even better.
