In addition to the obvious reasons to worry about the type of plane, where to go, and where certain activities take place, there are a number of things passengers should know before boarding.

- Airline apps. In order to avoid standing in line with your luggage and get all the necessary benefits from the airline, it is better to download the appropriate mobile application before the flight.
- Airline card. This is necessary to get elite status and priority benefits from the company.
- Status strategy. Even if you are flying with another airline, it may well be a partner of the one you usually use, so you can easily earn miles and increase your status.
- Check the airplane. Depending on the type and configuration of the aircraft, seats and amenities may vary.
- Check the seats. Use online services to determine where the seat you need is located and whether you are comfortable with its location.
- Organize all the processes. You can download the App in the Air or TripIt apps to plan your every step, from getting to the airport to the opportunities it offers.
- Real-time reports. You can find out all the information you need about your flight through the airport's internal apps or by using FlightStats to track flight statuses.
- Take care of what you are transporting. In particular, liquids you carry through security checkpoints should be less than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) and placed in a transparent bag.
- TSA PreCheck. You can go through pre-screening by paying $70 for PreCheck itself or $100 for Global Entry to keep your seatbelt on and have everything you need in your bag.
